Share Moyai as an Ankra profile

Moyai on-prem · 3 November 2026

A profile is a versioned snapshot of a stack that already works. Moyai makes it once from production; every customer installs exactly that, with its own values.

  1. MoyaiSnapshota working production stack becomes profile v1create
  2. MoyaiSharewith the customer's Ankra organisationshare add
  3. CustomerApplyto its own cluster, with its own valuesapply
  4. BothUpdateMoyai publishes v2, the customer moves to itsave-version · rollout

Moyai: make and share

ankra stack-profiles create --name moyai-data --stack easterisland-data \
  --cluster eu-central-production --category storage \
--description "SeaweedFS and Lakekeeper for Moyai"

ankra stack-profiles get moyai-data # the parameters customers fill in
ankra stack-profiles share add moyai-data acme-corp # the customer's organisation slug

The customer's admin finds the slug under organisation settings. Sharing lets them view and deploy every version, never change it. One profile per stack:

Profile From production stack Deploy wave
moyai-postgres-operator postgres-operator 1
moyai-monitoring monitoring 2
moyai-data easterisland-data 3

Customer: apply

ankra stack-profiles list # shared profiles show here
ankra stack-profiles apply moyai-data --cluster acme-prod --dry-run
ankra stack-profiles apply moyai-data --cluster acme-prod \
  --set-file <secret parameter>=./secret.txt --deploy

--dry-run prints the value every input will deploy with. Pass secrets with --set-file or --set-env, never --set. Without --deploy the apply is a draft to review first.

A new version

# Moyai
ankra stack-profiles save-version moyai-data --stack easterisland-data \
  --cluster eu-central-production --changelog "SeaweedFS 4.52"

# Customer
ankra stack-profiles rollout moyai-data --cluster acme-prod --version 2

A version that turns out bad is marked with ankra stack-profiles deprecate, so nobody deploys it again.
